Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D) with some Post-Partum care

Provide nursing care for patients undergoing inductions, vaginal deliveries, c-section deliveries, and recoveries.
Care for antepartum and high-risk obstetric patients.
Circulate during OB procedures including c-sections.
Float between Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units (couplet care).
Manage patients receiving oxytocin, magnesium, fluids, epidurals, and blood pressure medications.
Work with a diverse patient population and follow AWHONN staffing guidelines.
Use of EPIC electronic health record system is highly preferred.

Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience with ability to independently manage antepartum and laboring patients.
Certifications: BLS (AHA) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required.
Must pass a 90% or higher on an open book skills exam during orientation (failure results in termination).
Must have a valid driver’s license and live within 50 miles of the facility.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas.
Team player with strong critical thinking and communication skills.

Contract length: 13 weeks
12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Work 2-3 shifts per week on the floor
Every third weekend required, with possible additional weekends depending on need
Unit has 10 labor beds and 16 post-partum beds
Staffing includes 1 OB tech for the floor, PRN nurse aides, and a second tech
Support from educator, manager, NICU supervisor, and perinatal safety specialist
Positive team culture with manageable patient ratios, even during busy summer months
