Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – OB/L&D

Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced RN for OB/L&D to provide care for postpartum, stable antepartum, newborns, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow patients. The role includes floating as needed, primarily assisting but also caring for Med-Surg patients occasionally. The position involves variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, and rotating holidays.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years OB/L&D experience
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active Minnesota RN license
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certificate
• EPIC experience required; if not, must specify other EMR systems used
• Ability to work in Labor and Postpartum units
• Willingness to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed

Job Duties

• Care for postpartum mothers, stable antepartum patients, newborns, GYN patients, and Med-Surg overflow
• May serve as second RN in Special Care Nursery (SCN)
• Assist with circulating in Labor & Delivery if experienced
• Support unit staffing needs including filling vacancies and assisting during staff onboarding or FMLA coverage

Unit Information

• Patient census varies: approximately 5 couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor, 4 SCN patients
• Support staff includes ward clerks, CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, and LPN scrub nurses without assignments
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN standards:

  • 1:3 mom/baby couplets
  • 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients
  • 1:3-4 pediatrics

• Omnicell
• Philips Vitals Machines
• Bladder Scanner
• Medula Breast Pumps
• Responder 5 Call Light System
• Medfusion Pumps

Orientation & Training

• Equipment and unit orientation provided on the first day
• Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to work 12-hour day/night rotating shifts
• Every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays required
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required for this role
