Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Unit: 7 West / 7 East / 5 East
Patient Population: Primarily adults with occasional pediatrics (1-5 per year)
Level of Care: Medical Surgical with Telemetry
Number of Beds: 60

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour shifts (Day shift primarily, with some night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• RN to Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Float Opportunities: Yes, to 6E, acute rehab unit, geriatric psych unit
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Post-surgical care, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, weakness, cancer
• EMR System: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Scrubs Color: Navy

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Experience: Minimum 7 years in Tele/Med Surg specialty (based on specialty code and description)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a 90% score on a pass/fail open book exam during orientation (skills learned)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license at time of submission
  • Must comply with fingernail policy (no artificial nails in patient care areas)
  • Must not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity) within a 50-mile radius

Additional Notes

• Every other weekend work required
