Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Springfield, Missouri

Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort.
- Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and professional standards.
- Utilize the nursing process to care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.

- Department: Neurology 6C
- Number of Beds: 32
- Patient Types: Neurology, Medical, Medical Telemetry
- Patient Ratios: Vary by shift (Day: 1:5-1:6, Night: 1:6-1:7) – ratios not guaranteed
- Equipment: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Work Schedule
- Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year inpatient Neurology nursing experience
- Experience and competence in drug titration
Additional Requirements and Information
- Must receive flu vaccination or have Mercy-approved exemption (no declinations accepted) for November 1 – April 1
- Float on a rotational basis within the unit
- Dress code: Black scrubs only; no other scrub colors allowed
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, bending, stooping, lifting and turning patients with assistance, pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high-risk factor
- Flexible scheduling options available, including blocked scheduling and holiday requests with restrictions on time off
