Job Opportunity: RN Critical Care/ICU-CCU

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Care for adult cardiac/telemetry, stroke, vascular intervention, and hemodynamic monitoring patients.
  • Estimated 36-hour work week with possible overtime.
  • Must self-study telemetry strips; a Basic Dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to work on ICU-CCU units.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIHSS Certification (AHA only, renews every 2 years)
  • Valid professional nursing license with primary source verification (e.g., BON & NURSYS for RNs)

Required Health & Safety Compliance

  • Influenza vaccine or facility declination (due annually by December 1)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted
  • MMR: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; declinations accepted
  • TB Test: Negative test within past year (TSPOT or QuantiFERON IGG) or documentation if history of positive test
  • Fit Test for approved respirators (e.g., Moldex 1510, 3M 1860s) completed prior to start
  • Health Statement from a physician within the last 12 months

Required Professional & Background Checks

  • GRH Skills Checklist (completed within 12 months, does not expire)
  • Background check within 30 days of start (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check)
  • Iowa Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
  • Education verification through third party or combined with diploma/transcripts
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG screening within 30 days of start
  • Drug screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start; THC not required
  • SING, NSO, OFAC screenings within 30 days of start
  • Driver’s License or State ID (unexpired government-issued photo ID)
  • I-9 Attestation (completed on agency letterhead)
  • GRH Resume/Profile submission required
  • Two professional references required (one must be from a supervisor)
  • GRH OSHA Questionnaire completion required
  • Pre-Orientation CBL Acknowledgement form submission required

Additional Notes

  • Must pass a Basic Dysrhythmia test during the first week of assignment to continue working in ICU-CCU units.
  • Traveler is responsible for self-study of telemetry strips prior to assignment start.
  • Estimated work week is 36 hours with potential for overtime.
