Job Description

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
• Serve as primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
• Follow and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.

Required Specialty Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Post Partum care.

• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
• Ascension Education Verification: Verification of relevant education within 90 days of start.

• Ascension Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others; completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually.

Required Personal Health History & Immunizations

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
• Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire: Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within a year, and TB questionnaire. Updated annually.
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA: Required within specified timeframes prior to start.
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted.
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Minimum of 1 year of Post Partum nursing experience
• Post Partum experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
