Job Opportunity: RN PICC
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Insert peripherally placed central venous catheters, central lines, mid-line, and peripheral IV catheters.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a resource regarding insertion and maintenance of peripherally inserted catheters and all vascular access device products and procedures.
- Evaluate status of interventions and patient goals for reassessment, revision of plan of care, and discharge planning.
- Provide instruction and information to staff, patients, and families regarding care of peripherally inserted catheters, midlines, central lines, and peripheral IVs.
- Use electronic health record system (Cerner OneChart).
- Uniform requirement: blue scrubs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 2 years of PICC experience, including experience within the last year.
- Infusion nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Professional resume/profile.
- At least two professional references.
- Signed assignment agreement.
- Various health and immunization requirements including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations).
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations).
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start).
- 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for TB.
- Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment.
- Background checks including criminal background, EPLS, and drug screening (12-panel).
- Completion of specialty and core competency exams and checklists.
- Documentation of education verification relevant to clinical work.
- Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and address verified).
- Badge photo (headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
Additional Notes
- Clinical skills checklist and specialty exam may be required and updated periodically.
- Compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
- Ongoing annual updates for health screenings, immunizations, and competency assessments.
This position is ideal for an experienced RN with infusion specialty skills who is comfortable with vascular access device management and patient education in a hospital setting.
