Job Opportunity: PCU/Stepdown RN (Travel)

Location: Prestonsburg, Kentucky
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• New unit with 1:5/1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Requires 2+ years of current RN experience in PCU or stepdown units
• Experience with Meditech EMR system preferred
• Orientation offered bi-weekly
• RN must reside within 100 miles of the facility

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Kentucky RN license or compact license valid in Kentucky
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PCU or stepdown specialty
• Other Requirements:

  • ARH EKG Exam and Telemetry Exam (unit-specific, within 1 year prior to start)
  • Proof of immunizations/vaccinations:

    • 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
    • Influenza vaccine (seasonal, October-March)
    • 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
    • Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years)
  • TB testing: QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year prior to start
  • Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP, stating clear to work without restrictions
• Background and Compliance:

  • Recent background check (within 30 days prior to start) including criminal, sex offender, and employment verifications
  • Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (excluding marijuana/THC)
  • Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification (Kentucky)
  • Professional references: 2 required (1 charge nurse or higher, 1 supervisor reference within last year)
  • Completion of ARH core competencies and skills checklist annually
  • Signed specialty job description annually
  • Assignment confirmation form must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance
