Job Description

• Work on MS/ TELE Unit with short stay patients.
• Responsible for all MS/ TELE and observation patients.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:6 or 1:7.
• Floating to other units required during low census.
• Schedule follows a 36/48 hour rotation over a two-week pay period.
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
• Start date is immediate upon job acceptance.
• Must reside within 100 miles of the facility.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association certified; front and back of certificate required if not electronic)
• ACLS (Required for all RNs except Psych and True Med/Surg units)
• NIH Certification (Required for RN specialties except OR and Psych)
• Nursys License Verification (Must be current within 30 days of start)
• State Nursing License (Kentucky or compact license valid for KY facilities)

Required Immunizations & Health Requirements

• Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer (or first dose started with second dose within 28-30 days)
• Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination accepted
• Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer (or first dose started with second dose within 28-30 days)
• Influenza vaccine (required October-March; must be administered on or after August 1)
• Tdap vaccine valid for 10 years (declinations accepted)
• Annual physical or physician statement within 1 year prior to start, stating "clear to work" and free of restrictions
• TB Quantiferon blood test within 1 year prior to start
• If positive TB record, proof of chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire

Required Background & Compliance Checks

• Background check within 30 days prior to start (7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender, SAM, OIG)
• Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (excluding marijuana/THC)
• Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification (Kentucky clinical specialties)
• Social Security Trace, OIG Search, EPLS, OFAC, SAM, National Sex Offender checks as applicable
• Education and Employment verifications (7 years of relevant experience required for employment verification)
• Submission packet including cover sheet, resume, skills checklist, driver’s license, and license/certification verification in one PDF

Required Skills & Competency Exams (Annual Updates Required)

• Skills checklist specific to scope of practice and unit
• Competency exam specific to scope of practice
• EKG and Telemetry exam specific to unit
• Core competencies including HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of specialty experience (default to higher if discrepancies found)
• No explicit prior travel experience required stated

• Holiday policy applies for all requested time off.
• Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
