Job Opportunity: Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)

Shift: 5–8 hour day shifts with variable start times; includes call on nights, weekends, and holidays
Housing: Shared housing provided; no guests or pets allowed; personal car required
Return to Office (RTO): Not required

Job Description

Perform sterile processing duties to ensure proper sterilization and handling of medical instruments and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician within the last year.
• Certification as a Central Sterile Technician (CST), or certification from NBSTA or NCCT.
• Must provide primary source verification of professional license and/or certification as required for the position. Massachusetts conditional licenses are not accepted.
• Health Requirements:

  • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (two MMR vaccines or proof of immunity via blood test).
  • TB screening: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if break >6 months.
  • Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if break >6 months.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred (optional).
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred (optional).
  • If positive TB test, documentation of a negative chest x-ray required (optional).

Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Two references within the last 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset.
• Completed skills checklist within 1 year of submission.
• Candidate submission coversheet (current version).

Onboarding Requirements

• Professional license/certification verification (primary source).
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including county and international residence/travel history for the last 7 years.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date.
• Social Security Number trace with criminal check.
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date and updated annually.
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually.
• Education verification of highest level achieved (not required for CNA).
• Confirmation of assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for extensions.
• Housing agreement required if moving into shared housing.

Additional Notes

• Shared housing rules: no guests or pets allowed.
• Personal vehicle required for this assignment.
• No return to office (RTO) required.

This position is ideal for sterile processing technicians who are certified, meet health and background screening requirements, and are comfortable with variable day shifts including on-call responsibilities.
