Registered Nurse (Psychiatric) - Rotating Shifts
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Requires 1 year of nursing experience; psychiatric experience preferred (any amount).
- Medicine experience preferred (any amount).
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills preferred.
- Shift schedule is rotating with a combination of days, evenings, and nights; approximately 50% of shifts will be evening or night shifts.
- Work schedule: 36 hours per week, typically 3 days of 12-hour shifts.
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Additional Information
- Positive TB test requires documentation of a negative chest x-ray after the positive test.
- Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential or profile name.
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for fit testing.
- Fit testing cannot be performed onsite; must be completed prior to start date.
Summary
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience, preferably with some psychiatric background, who is comfortable working rotating 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends. The role requires comprehensive credentialing and health clearances prior to start.
