Registered Nurse (RN) ICU – Day Shift

Location: Maywood, Illinois
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Unit: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) – 4NW
Hours: 36 hours/week, every third weekend

Job Description

Provide direct patient care in a Medical ICU setting.
Work day shift from 7 AM to 7:30 PM.
Schedule includes 36 hours per week with every third weekend required.

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

Valid RN license in Illinois.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
MICU experience must be within the last year.

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Pros

Some of the staff are nice and helpful. Pretty big department.

Cons

Assignments can be heavy, got told I would be Neo/Peds, but I get floated everywhere (adults floors/ICU). Have to pay to park ($2/day) in further garage or $5 in closer garage. And the worst is 8hr assignments!
