Step Down RN Travel Contract
Overview
- Location: Boone, North Carolina
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Weekly hours: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Schedule and Unit Details
- Up to 2 weekends per month
- Floating required to MedSurg based on patient volume
- Holidays required
- Block scheduling may be considered if requested upfront, but is not guaranteed
- Patient ratio: 5:1, with a goal of 4:1
- Average census: 20–24 in a 24-bed unit
- Pediatric patients are occasional; candidate must be comfortable caring for them when needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- 2 or more years of total travel experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Driver's License
- Med Surg experience
- Experience with Epic
Additional Requirements
- Must include the required cover sheet and current NURSYS report with the profile
- All requested time off must be submitted with the profile
- Candidates residing within 40 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Driver’s license required for address verification prior to offer
- Navy or white scrubs only
Compliance and Onboarding
- Proof of 2 clinical references required
- Background check required
- Physical exam required
- TB screening or chest X-ray required
- Drug screen required
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/documentation required
- Photo for badge required
- Orientation and facility paperwork required before start
