Registered Nurse – MS - Ortho

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Greenville, South Carolina
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 36 hours per week
• Unit is a Medsurg Ortho floor with orthopedic trauma and general medical-surgical overflow
• May float to MS/Tele floors as needed
• Ratio: 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Orthopedics experience within the last year
• 1 year of orthopedics experience
• Med Surg experience
• Experience with Epic
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Peripheral nerve block catheters
• Total joint replacements
• Chest tubes
• PICC line management
• Central line blood draws
• Spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injury care

Unit Details

• Ortho/Trauma-Med/Surg unit for a Level 1 Trauma Center
• No telemetry; continuous pulse oximetry is used
• Typical patient population includes orthopedic trauma from MVC, GSW, falls, and assaults
• Common care includes drains, chest tubes, and PCA pumps
• Average length of stay is 3–5 days

Floating

• Agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed, within documented competencies

Additional Notes

• Every other weekend required
• Pending license is not accepted
