ED Surge RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Manchester, New Hampshire.
• The traveler will be contracted to the ED unit, specifically to care for inpatient/CICU Level holds in ED.
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30.
• 36 hours per week.
• 13-week contract.
• No Thanksgiving RTO.
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Hampshire
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of experience in Cardiac Stepdown
• Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic
• Experience with cardiac drips, including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labatolol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine

Preferred Qualifications

• ED experience.

Unit / Clinical Scope

• ED unit caring for inpatient/CICU Level holds in ED.
• Overflow may include Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, and Orthopedic patients.
• Patient diagnoses include chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, post-cath with stent only, ICD/pacer insertions, and cardioversions.
• Floating may include similar units.
• Team nursing / Helping Hands approach.
• Patient sitting may be assigned.
• Special equipment includes Bipap, Cpap, Vapotherm, Alaris Pumps, and Phillips Monitoring System.
