Overview

Role: L&D RN
Specialty/unit: Antepartum, LDRP, Mother/Baby
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
Hours per week: 36
Ratios: 1–2 couplets
Contract length: 13 weeks
Local candidates: Accepted
First-time travelers: Considered with at least 5 years of experience

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Arizona
Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NRP
EFM
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

AWHONN Advanced
C-EFM
RNC-OB

Required Skills

Assist with sterile speculum exam
NST (Non Stress Tests)
Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus
Sterile vaginal exam
Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
Use of External & Internal Fetal Monitoring
Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration
Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
Administration of blood & blood products
Drawing venous blood
Start and maintain peripheral IV
Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring
Medication administration
Postpartum care and procedures
Amnioinfusion
Assist with high risk delivery
Assist with vaginal delivery
Circulate for C-section
Forceps/vacuum extraction
Hemorrhage/shock
Recover C-Section
Neonatal care in delivery room
Cord care
Discharge teaching to parents

Newborn assessment
Newborn hypoglycemia
Epidural anesthesia / general anesthesia / pain assessment & management

May float occasionally to PostPartum if within scope
