Pediatric Oncology Chemotherapy Certified Registered Nurse

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Durham, North Carolina
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Targeted start dates: 9/21 or 10/5
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Bi-weekly orientation
  • Every other weekend required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted within 75 miles

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Pediatric Hematology / Oncology (1 year of experience)
  • Pediatric Hematology / Oncology experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • ONS/ONCC
  • APHON
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

  • Unit-specific competency exam required
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a supervisor and both from employment within the last 12 months
  • Employment application required
  • 7 years of work history must be included on the employment application
  • Skills checklist required and must be updated annually

Pre-Start Compliance

  • Background check required before start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 90 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check required within 90 days of start
  • OFAC sanctions list search required within 30 days of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 12 months of start
  • TB questionnaire required and must be updated annually
  • Physical exam required within 12 months of start
  • Drug test required within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season
  • Tdap or Td vaccination required every 10 years
  • Polio vaccine or school attestation required
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/vaccination documentation required
