Registered Nurse – Ortho (Night Shift)
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Orthopedics
- Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45 to 7:15)
- Total Hours per Week: 36
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
- Minimum 1 year of Orthopedics experience, with experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by a physician
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask) including mask size
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual renewal required
- 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, MDMA, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP, tricyclic antidepressants)
- Two professional references required
Additional Notes
- No local candidates accepted; travel experience is mandatory
- Facility-specific orientation includes completion of Healthstream courses and glucose testing competency before performing accuchecks
- Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons with proper documentation
- Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, MAB, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on specific unit assignments but are not mandatory for this Ortho RN role
