Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Operating Room (OR) setting.
• Required experience with cardiac cases, including robotic cardiac procedures.
• General OR experience is necessary.
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week).
• Standby requirement: 2 weekend shifts (24 hours total) and 5 weekdays on call per month (call starts after shift ends until the next day).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Cardiac experience, including robotic cardiac procedures.

Certifications & Compliance

• BLS certification required for all clinical positions.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other certifications are not required for OR nurses in this role.
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
• Tdap vaccination required (no declinations accepted).
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical or religious exemption is on file.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or agency flu declination required year-round.
• Proof of N95 mask fit test within 1 year prior to start; must use approved mask models.
• 9-panel drug test within 1 year prior to start.

Background & Documentation Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, county, state, federal, and national sex offender searches.
• HHS/OIG clearance required.
• Employment application and two satisfactory references required.
• Skills checklist required.
• Primary source license verification within 30 days of start (visual verification with signature, initials, date, and title).
• Facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, standards of conduct, confidentiality agreement, and learning modules must be completed prior to start.
• Vaccine attestation form must be completed regardless of vaccination status.

Additional Facility Requirements

• Experience with EPIC or Cerner electronic health records preferred; less than 6 months experience may result in assignment cancellation.
• No scrub color requirement; OR scrubs provided by the facility.
• Pyxis acknowledgment must be signed prior to start.
• Completion of facility learning modules (approximately 8 hours) required before starting assignment.
• Employee flu clinics available for free vaccination for badge holders.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced Registered Nurse with cardiac and general OR experience. The role requires day shifts with standby call responsibilities. Compliance with extensive health, background, and certification requirements is mandatory prior to assignment start.
