Medical Lab Technician Travel/Contract Position

Location: Brewton, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform and evaluate a variety of technical laboratory procedures with precision and accuracy.
• Utilize quality control techniques using automated, semi-automated, and manual methods.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures in chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, and blood bank sections.
• May occasionally collect blood samples from patients of all ages using various collection devices and techniques.
• Other duties as assigned by Laboratory leadership.

Schedule

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM), Sunday through Tuesday block.
• Initial training on day shift: 4 consecutive 10-hour day shifts starting at 8:00 AM during the first week of assignment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Lab Technician, including experience within the last year.
• At least 2 years of experience in Microbiology.
• At least 2 years of experience in Blood Bank.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a closely related field such as Biology or Chemistry.
