Registered Nurse – Tele Float (Travel/Contract)

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work 3 night shifts per week, each 12 hours (18:45–7:15)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday, including a major holiday (mandatory)
• Acute care setting with telemetry monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license in hand
• Minimum 18 months acute care experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Telemetry experience required
• Must pass two pass/fail exams on the first day of orientation:

  • Medication exam
  • Telemetry exam (only one attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (verify with assignment details)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Massachusetts statewide iCORI release (criminal background check) within 30 days prior to start
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal search, and federal exclusions
• Education verification of highest completed degree (transcript acceptable if verification unavailable)
• NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start
• Physical exam within 12 months, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• Immunizations or valid declinations for:

  • COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or declination)
  • Flu seasonal vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) with titers, vaccines, or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
  • Varicella with titer, vaccine, documented history, or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
  • Hepatitis B series, reactive titer, or declination (declinations valid for 1 year)
• TB testing: Two PPDs (one within 90 days, one within 1 year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days; if positive, chest X-ray within 5 years and facility-specific TB questionnaire required
• Skills checklist and employment application covering 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references within the last three years

Important Notes

• Telemetry exam is not required for OR, Psychiatry, Mother-Baby/Postpartum, and NICU units
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 6 months and annually for RNs in acute care, critical care, ED, cath lab, PACU; failure results in immediate cancellation
• Study materials provided prior to orientation for pass/fail exams
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required depending on specialty/unit
• Candidates must be prepared to work a major holiday as part of the schedule

This position is ideal for experienced acute care RNs with telemetry and Epic experience who are comfortable with night shifts and holiday work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
