Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Location: Lake Forest, Illinois

Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Provide intra-procedure nursing coverage for both Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology.
• Participate in on-call rotation: 6-7 days per month including weekends.
• Must have experience in both Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology procedures.
• Meal breaks are 30 minutes.
• Weekend work required as part of on-call duties.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience, with experience within the last year.
• Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab nursing.

Experience

• Minimum years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated, but must have demonstrated competency in both Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology nursing.
• Prior travel experience: Not required.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or Government Photo ID with current address is highly recommended.
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start date.

• State RN license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and ability to perform job duties.
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start.
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (TD not accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious accommodation during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination.
• Fit mask testing (3M Aura 1870+), completed within 12 months and updated annually.
• OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance if fit test failed.
• Completion of facility-specific training modules and compliance documents prior to start.
• Sexual harassment training required annually.
• Completion of competency exam as applicable.

Additional Requirements

• Must complete fingerprinting to become eligible on the Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry prior to start. Fingerprinting must be done in Illinois; out-of-state fingerprints are not accepted.
• Must review and acknowledge facility policies including privacy, confidentiality, and information security agreements prior to start.
• Must complete required consent releases and training modules as assigned.
• Accommodation request forms for vaccinations must be submitted within 24-48 hours of contract signing if applicable.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced procedural areas including Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology.
• On-call responsibilities require flexibility and availability for weekend coverage.
