Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Mount Vernon, Illinois

Job Description

• Position: Physical Therapist (PT)
• Work Setting: Acute care and inpatient rehabilitation
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts
• Weekend rotation every 6-7 weeks (with a day off before and after weekend shift)
• Holiday rotation: One holiday per year
• Attire: Caribbean blue or khakis with lab coat
• Note: Travelers must shave for mask fit testing; PAPRs and CAPRs are not provided or allowed for travelers. Failure to shave will result in cancellation.

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Must be comfortable performing acute care and inpatient rehab evaluations

Prior Travel Experience

Certifications & Compliance

• BLS certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications may be relevant depending on unit but not explicitly required here
• Must complete OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start for fit testing

Health & Safety Requirements

• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray if positive PPD within 5 years
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
• COVID vaccination preferred but not mandatory
• Must complete Respirator Safety clearance prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 12 months including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide search, sex offender search
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Completion of facility-specific confidentiality, security agreements, and ethical conduct policies
• Completion of orientation checklists and training modules as assigned

• Locals accepted for this travel/contract position
• Facility does not provide PAPRs or CAPRs for travelers; strict mask fit testing policy enforced
• Weekend and holiday rotations are part of the schedule with compensatory days off
