Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with specialized experience in structural heart procedures to work in a Cath Lab setting. This is a travel/contract position requiring the ability to scrub for all procedures, not just diagnostic.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Scrub experience for all Cath Lab procedures, including structural heart procedures
  • Experience with PA Lines and Telemetry
  • Experience with TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • Experience with Balloon Angioplasty, PCI, Stents, Thrombectomy, and Impella insertion

Work Schedule & Requirements

  • Shift: 4 x 10-hour days, Monday to Friday (07:00 - 17:30)
  • Call: One day per week plus one weekend per 4-week schedule, with callback required
  • Float: Rarely required; may float to EP or patient holding area within Cath Lab
  • Target Ratios: 3 rooms
  • Scrubs: Provided
  • Systems: EPIC, MAC Lab
  • Interview: Manager interview required prior to offer
  • Testing: Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start

Unit & Procedure Details

  • Performs complex PCI procedures and other advanced Cath Lab interventions
  • Structural heart scrub experience is critical and non-negotiable

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

  • Background checks within 6 months
  • Drug testing within 6 months
  • Physical exam and immunizations per standard travel requirements (including TB, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccination or exemption)
  • Competency exams including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (must pass with 82% or higher)
  • Mandatory facility-specific trainings and acknowledgments (e.g., Medication Safety, Confidentiality Agreement, Hospital Policies)
  • Photo for badge required before start
  • Completion of Non-Novant Health Worker Orientation (approx. 8-10 hours for acute care)
  • Annual compliance and safety trainings as required

Additional Notes

  • No RTO (Return to Office) allowed after booking; call-offs may lead to cancellation
  • Prior structural heart scrub experience is strictly required; candidates without this will not be considered
  • Floating is minimal and mostly within Cath Lab-related areas
  • Candidates must be prepared for a thorough interview and competency testing process

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with structural heart procedure expertise looking for a 13-week travel assignment in North Carolina.
