Job Opportunity: Step Down Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend


Job Description

  • Open to first-time travel nurses
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
  • Work in a step-down unit providing care to patients requiring intermediate monitoring

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
