Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care services primarily in the Emergency Department and Special Care Nursery.
• No requirement to float between units.
• Every 3rd weekend shift required.
• First-time travel therapists are not accepted.
• Local candidates within a 70-mile radius are not accepted.
• Mask fit testing requires candidates to be clean-shaven; personal PAPRs or CAPRs are not allowed.
• No on-call duties.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county history, nationwide search, and sex offender search.
• Government-issued photo ID and valid driver’s license or state ID.
• I-9 verification and E-Verify compliance.
• Respirator OSHA clearance prior to start (RespSafety clearance required).
• Fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation; candidates must provide fit test documentation within two weeks of start.
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest X-ray within 5 years if prior positive PPD.
• Drug screen negative within 12 months of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• COVID vaccination series preferred.
• Required to complete facility-specific orientation modules and sign confidentiality and ethical conduct agreements prior to start.
• Post-start orientation checklists must be completed and submitted within the first week.
• Photo for badge required unless exempted by facility.

• Travelers must participate in holiday and weekend rotations as required.
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and training requirements.
• Physical exam indicating good health within 1 year of start is required.
• Candidates must maintain annual renewal of certifications and training as applicable.

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs comfortable working nights in a trauma hospital setting with pediatric/neonatal emergency care components.
