Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Radiology Tech - Generalist (X-Ray Tech)
- Shifts: 36 hours per week, 2nd/3rd shift
- Every Monday and Friday: 3:45 PM - 4:15 AM
- Every other Saturday and Sunday: 3:45 PM - 4:15 AM
- Caseload: Variable, dependent on Emergency Room and portable inpatient volume
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Not required
- Block schedule accommodation: Yes
- Pending state license accepted but must be active prior to start date
- Guaranteed hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in Connecticut
- ARRT certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician (Radiology Tech - Generalist)
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician within the last year
Certifications Required
- ARRT certification
- State Radiology Technologist license (must be active before start)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months prior to start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification including foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
- Sex offender search required
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred for pediatric specialties)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titers
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccination preferred
Additional Training and Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 85% to pass)
- Color blind testing (required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024, must score 80% or higher)
Work History and References
- 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days required
- Verification of last 7 years of employment required
- One supervisor reference within the past year required for Cardio Thoracic ICU/CTICU assignments (not applicable here)
