Job Description

• Position: Radiology Tech - Generalist (X-Ray Tech)
• Shifts: 36 hours per week, 2nd/3rd shift

  • Every Monday and Friday: 3:45 PM - 4:15 AM
  • Every other Saturday and Sunday: 3:45 PM - 4:15 AM
• Caseload: Variable, dependent on Emergency Room and portable inpatient volume
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Not required
• Block schedule accommodation: Yes
• Pending state license accepted but must be active prior to start date
• Guaranteed hours

Required Qualifications

• Valid X-Ray Technician license in Connecticut
• ARRT certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician (Radiology Tech - Generalist)
• Experience as an X-Ray Technician within the last year

Certifications Required

• ARRT certification
• State Radiology Technologist license (must be active before start)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months prior to start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification including foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Sex offender search required
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred for pediatric specialties)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccination preferred

Additional Training and Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 85% to pass)
• Color blind testing (required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024, must score 80% or higher)

Work History and References

• 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days required
• Verification of last 7 years of employment required
• One supervisor reference within the past year required for Cardio Thoracic ICU/CTICU assignments (not applicable here)
