Job Opportunity: RRT Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: May float within scope depending on experience; no floating to sister facilities
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Radius Rule: 60 miles; local candidates considered case-by-case

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Pediatric, Neonate, and Infant patients
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of work eligibility (I-9, E-Verify attestation)
• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID and Social Security Card
• Annual background check covering last 7 years, including multiple national and state registries
• Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
• Clinical references: minimum 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Employment history verification for last 3 clinical employers
• Clear, passport-style badge photo (frontal, shoulders up, business casual attire)
• Facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed prior to start
• Radiation badge required only if assigned to units with radiation exposure (not applicable for this role)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
  • Varicella: positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccination series, or declination form
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or documented history with chest x-ray as applicable
• Annual TB questionnaire completion required
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete facility vaccination declination form
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31) or medical/religious exemption; documentation must be uploaded before December 5 deadline

Competency Requirements

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Color blindness testing prior to start
• Competency exam required; pediatric OR competency preferred if applicable

• Block scheduling may be accommodated with prior approval but is not guaranteed
