Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery with a preference for candidates having 5+ years of experience, though 3+ years will be considered. The role may require on-call duties, weekends, floating, and holidays as needed. Typically, 6 weekend shifts are scheduled per 6-week period but may vary.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Work Schedule & Requirements

• On-call, weekends, floating, and holiday shifts may be required
• Weekend shifts: Approximately 6 per 6-week period (variable)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• I9 or attestation
• Valid government-issued photo ID or passport
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and sex offender search
• E-Verify or attestation
• Professional references: 2 within the last 3 years
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test (annual)
• Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months, with annual updates and follow-up if positive
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or signed declination form
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80%, 2 attempts allowed)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Pass/fail testing required for medication and EKG knowledge

Additional Certifications (may be required depending on unit)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC or TCAR (Trauma Nursing Core Course or Trauma Care After Resuscitation)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
