Job Description

• Position: Long Term Care (LTC) CNA
• Previous travel experience required
• Alaska CNA license can be pending, but application must already be submitted with documentation (application submittal, fee paid, fingerprints, educational verification, license verification)
• If AK CNA license is pending, must also submit:

  • Valid CNA license from another state
  • Verification of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate, transcript, etc.)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift Options:

  • 4x12 hour variable shifts or 3x12 hour variable shifts (traveler's choice)
  • Shifts are either days or nights, no rotation required except for urgent staffing needs
• Patient Ratio: 1:20
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year LTC experience
• First Time Travelers: Not accepted
• Certifications Required: BLS
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Locals: Not accepted (permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)
• Time Off (RTO):

  • No more than 2 weeks of RTO for 26-week contract
  • Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
  • All RTO requests must be submitted with application and cannot be requested after offer or contract signing
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks)

Vehicle Information

• Facility provides a vehicle for use during assignment
• Vehicle available 72 hours before contract start and must be returned within 24 hours after contract end
• Only the traveler may operate the vehicle
• Traveler must provide valid driver's license and proof of insurance (including rental car coverage)
• Vehicle use limited to "around town" within 30-mile radius, no off-road use
• Vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
• Tire chains available at additional cost
• Vehicle must be returned during any time off and reissued upon return

Requirements & Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

• Alaska CNA license application must be submitted prior to start (pending license accepted with documentation)
• Valid CNA license from another state if AK license is pending
• BLS certification required (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation accepted)
• LTC experience required
• Other certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) not required for this role

Experience

• Minimum 1 year LTC experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted

References & Employment History

• Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 6 months of employment within last 3 years in comparable LTC setting
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years required

Background Checks & Screenings

• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Drug screen (10 panel) within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Physical exam within 1 year
  • TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
• Fit mask test required (updated annually)

Training & Competencies

• Must complete required WorkRamp modules for LTC and Alaska facilities prior to start
• Skills checklist required annually for applicable units
• Medication aide exam required for LTC CNAs in Oregon Assisted Living facilities (not applicable here)

Other

• Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Must be willing to work major winter holidays as noted
• Locals not accepted (must live 50+ miles away)
