Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Call: Required with a 30-minute response time (non-negotiable)
• Experience: Open heart surgery or related experience required
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • ECMO
  • LVAD, Impella experience required
  • Scrub experience preferred
  • Experience with CABG, mitral, tricuspid, and aortic valve replacement/repair, aortic dissections, pericardial window, thoracotomies, VATS
  • Robotic experience in chest cases preferred
• Travelers: No first-time travelers unless they have open heart or related experience

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Mandatory Pre-Employment Documents

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Social Security Card (required for badge)
• Background Check (within 60 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years)
• Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation (if education obtained outside the U.S.)
• Transcript/Diploma (highest education, as applicable)
• Fingerprinting (NC SBI Fingerprint Results required for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions)
• Education Verification (strict primary source verification required)
• High School Diploma/GED Verification (as applicable)

Certifications Required

• ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Pass/Fail EKG Exam (required for all RNs)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State License Verification (Primary Source within 30 days of start)
• NURSYS Verification (within 60 days of start)
• Other certifications as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with 2 attempts allowed
• EPIC Test (required for RNs and allied candidates, 2 attempts allowed)
• Facility-specific photo for badge (strict guidelines)
• Health History Form
• Floating Policy Acknowledgement
• Contractor Equipment Acknowledgement Form

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam (if applicable)
• Fit Mask Test (annual, specific approved N95 respirators)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap Vaccine (proof required)
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
• TB Questionnaire (within 30 days of start, updated annually)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - Positive titer or vaccination series required
• Hepatitis B (Titer or declination with boosters as needed)
• Varicella (Positive titer or vaccination series)
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 40 days of start)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption (required by 10/20)
• COVID-19 Vaccine or Declination (accepted)

Employment History & References

• Employment Application/Resume with 7-year work history
• Verification of all employment within last 5 years (third-party verification required)
• 2 supervisory references required for clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)

Important Notes

• Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Compliance deadline is 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date
• No first-time travelers unless experienced in open heart or related specialty
• Candidate must be aware of and pass the required EKG exam
• Strict adherence to education and background verification policies
