Work Schedule

• Shift: Day
• Hours: 8:15 AM - 5:00 PM
• Days: Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday
• Guaranteed Hours per Week: 16
• No call, weekend, or float requirements

Experience Required

• Experience working in an outpatient pediatric setting

Required Certifications (AHA unless otherwise noted)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AAP or American Medical Learning Center only
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - as applicable
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, APEX, Bluecloud) - must be updated annually
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable
• National Tech Certification (for Med Techs/MLS/MT/MLT) as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State License Verification (primary source online verification)

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 1 year prior to assignment, passing score ≥ 80%)
• Competency Exam in specialty (within 1 year prior to assignment, passing score ≥ 80%)
• Color Blind Testing (required for laboratory setting only)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including lifetime search from age 18
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Michigan LARA fingerprinting within 45 days of start (specific to certain positions)
• Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
• Michigan Central Registry Clearance (required for all pediatric placements, RRT, L&D, Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographers) - wet signature required
• One professional reference from supervisor/manager (Charge Nurse references acceptable)
• Complete employment application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps
• Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required for non-clinical roles)
• Fit mask test (Honeywell DC365N95HC) required onsite for certain roles; annual expiration for Aya candidates
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (must include pertussis) - declinations not accepted
• Negative TB test (PPD or Q Gold/Tspot) within 45 days of start; if positive, chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required
• TB questionnaire updated annually
• Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions not accepted
• Hepatitis B: titer, series, or facility declination required
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions not accepted
• Drug testing: 10 panel including Marijuana/THC within 45 days of start; no exceptions
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required for candidates starting after 11/1; medical/spiritual exemptions allowed with facility forms and approval

Facility Specific Requirements

• Review and sign Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy prior to start
• Hepatitis B declination form if declining vaccine or titer
• Fit test appointment instructions provided for onsite testing
• Medical and vaccine exemption forms require approval and must be submitted in advance
• Dosimetry History Request Form required for Radiology specialties

• Government issued photo ID required
• Proof of name change documentation if applicable
• Personal or auto insurance required for Home Health roles (updated every 6 months)
