Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a travel contract position.


Required Experience

  • Approximately 2 years of experience preferred in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty.
  • 2 supervisory or manager professional references required (Charge RN acceptable for one). Peer references not accepted.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Ohio State license required for RRTs.
  • Must ensure the address/location on Driver’s License matches the location on the RRT license.
  • Required certifications include:
    • NBRC credential for RRTs
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable
    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) as applicable

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked).
  • Education verification of highest degree through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting within 60 days of start, must be updated for each new contract.
  • Sex offender, nurse aide, inmate, Medicaid exemption, and abuse registry searches required within 30 days of start.
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start.
  • Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within last year; additional testing if positive history.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31); medical/religious exemptions require approval.
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination as required.
  • N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (facility accepts signed Infection Control Policy in lieu of physical exam copy).

Additional Job Requirements

  • Floating to other units may be required.
  • Must provide a copy of resume or employment application.
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
