Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse

Location: Paducah, Kentucky

Job Description

• Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty.
• Prior travel experience is required.
• Floating to like units may be expected.
• Cardiac telemetry experience required, including:

  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Pre/post cardiac patient care
  • Central line care and management
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is required.
• Scrub color: Royal Blue.

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Kentucky.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only.
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be current within 1 year).

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of RN experience with telemetry/cardiac patients.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Ability to manage cardiac telemetry patients including dysrhythmia interpretation and central line care.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR system.

Background and Verification Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
• Education verification matching specialty; diploma or transcript may be required.
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• Professional references: 2 required.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards).
• Fit mask test (annual) with accepted mask types; religious exemption accepted with documentation.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • 2 MMR vaccines or IgG titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or IgG titer
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually.
• Baseline TB risk assessment within 90 days of start, updated annually.
• Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form.

Competency and Other Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Color blindness testing prior to start.
• Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually.

Additional Notes

• Floating to similar units may be required.
• Patient care ratios are typically 1:5 to 1:6.
• Badge photo required (shoulders up, solid light background).
• Fit test religious exemption requires additional documentation for this location.

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with prior travel experience who are proficient in cardiac telemetry care and Epic EHR.
