Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU)

Location: Anniston, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)
• Float to MedSurg units
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Work settings: MedSurg/Telemetry, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown units
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Must be able to start IVs, manage Heparin protocols, and cardiac drips (no titration)
• Accepts first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Alabama
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Current, AHA or ARC
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required based on unit (not required for MedSurg RN)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required based on unit
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (default assumption for Registered Nurse unless otherwise specified)
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
• Ability to start IVs and manage cardiac drips (no titration)

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start
• Tdap vaccination or declination within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months (or TB questionnaire if test expires during assignment)
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)

Background and Documentation

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in last 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification (official transcript, diploma, or third-party verification)
• NURSYS verification prior to start
• Skills checklist required annually

• Patient ratio is 1:5
• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Must be able to float to MedSurg units
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills essential
