Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years preferred
- Typically requires more than 3 years of experience for first-time travelers
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- Licensure:
- Ohio State RN license or Compact RN license required
- Prior Travel Experience:
- First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis; preference for experienced travelers
- Float Assignments:
- Must be willing to float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical units as needed
- Electronic Medical Record:
- EPIC experience required
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for NICU RNs
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Check unit/job description for requirement
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - Check unit/job description for requirement
- State RN License Verification (OH State or Compact RN license)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse
- Fingerprinting (OH BCI/FBI) within 60 days of start, updated for each new contract
- Sex offender search within 30 days of start
- Ohio-specific registry searches (Nurse Aide, Inmate, Medicaid Exemption, Abuse Registry) within 30 days of start
- Verification of highest degree and education credentials
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (within 1 year of start) confirming free of communicable diseases
- N95 Fit Testing within 1 year of start, updated annually
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (no titer substitution)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility protocol; TB questionnaire required at start and annually
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declination or proof of vaccination/titer acceptable)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccine required October 31 - May 31 (declination not accepted; medical/religious exemptions require approval)
Documentation and Other Requirements
- Two professional references required (at least one must be a manager or supervisor; peer references not accepted)
- Copy of resume or employment application required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, updated annually
- Must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Confidentiality/IT Use Agreement prior to start
- Must comply with facility infection control policies and other facility-specific documentation
Additional Notes
- Candidates must have legal name on all certifications and licenses matching exactly (no nicknames or misspellings)
- Facility does not allow local travelers with Ohio driver’s license address within 60 miles of the facility
- Fingerprint results must be completed promptly; facility may complete fingerprinting onsite if needed
- Floating to multiple units requires flexibility and compliance with facility float expectations
This opportunity is ideal for experienced pediatric RNs with trauma and EPIC experience who are flexible and willing to float across various critical care and medical-surgical units.
