Job Description
- Must have scrub experience to be considered.
- Able to circulate and scrub in the following specialty areas:
- Transplant (Liver and Kidney)
- Endoscopy
- Vascular and vascular emergencies
- Neuro
- Trauma (including MVA, gunshot, and stabbings)
- Circulate hearts
- General surgery
- Pediatrics
- Microbiology
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for travel RN unless otherwise specified by recruiter.

Certifications & Licenses Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only (required for ER)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA only (required for ER, NICU, PICU, OR, PACU, Pediatrics)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Advanced NRP (AHA/AAP only) (required for L&D, NICU, Nursery, Mother/Baby)
- State RN License: Massachusetts license verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification: Required within 30 days prior to start
- Medication Exam / Pharmacology Competency: Required for all RNs
- Pass/Fail Testing: Medication exam required for all RNs; Telemetry exam required for RNs working in telemetry units (only one attempt allowed; minimum 80% score)
- Other Preferred Certifications:
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – preferred for ER
- Chemotherapy certification – preferred for Oncology
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) – may be required for L&D
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) – may be required depending on specialty area
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), NIH Stroke Certification, ENPC – check specialty requirements
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
- Immunizations / Titers / Declinations:
- COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination (most recent vaccine required)
- Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – positive titer, 2 vaccines, or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU)
- Varicella – positive titer, 2 vaccines, documented chickenpox history, or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU)
- Hepatitis B – reactive titer, 3 dose series, or declination (declinations valid for 1 year)
- TB Testing: Two PPDs required (one within 90 days, one within 1 year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days; if positive, chest x-ray within 5 years plus facility-specific TB questionnaire
- Drug Testing: Required within 30 days of start; includes multiple drug panels
- Background Checks: 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal search, and other federal databases
- Statewide iCORI Clearance: Required within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
- References: Two references within three years of start
- Employment History: Must include 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually as applicable
Work Environment
- Fast-paced surgical environment with exposure to trauma and emergency cases
- Call rotation includes night shifts every third weekend
