Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Shift: 48-hour shifts (4x12 hour days)
• Start Dates: Multiple start dates available (e.g., January 12, January 26)
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years recent experience (strict requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
• First-Timers: Not accepted
• Nursing Model: Team nursing with a ratio of 1:6/7
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed; weekend block schedule may be considered but must be discussed during interview
• Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
• Special Requirements:

  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Large hospital experience required

Required Certifications & Licenses

• State License: Tennessee RN license or multistate license required
• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only, required for all candidates
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Medical Surgical/Telemetry and other specified units
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs except those working at the Children's Hospital
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit or specialty (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including statewide, county, federal, education verification, sex offender search, and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start (no facial hair allowed if it interferes with fit)
• Immunizations: Proof of vaccines or positive antibody titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
• TB test: Negative 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for onsite candidates during flu season
• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually

Facility-Specific Information

• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Photo badge required prior to start with strict guidelines (passport-style photo, no hats, no glasses glare, etc.)
• Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start
• Submission of all required documents must be complete before start date; no exceptions for pending items

Additional Notes

• No accommodation for block schedules except possible weekend blocks with prior discussion
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no changes after offer
• Candidates must be fully compliant with all facility requirements before starting

This position is ideal for experienced travel Registered Nurses with Level I Trauma and large hospital experience who meet strict compliance and documentation standards.
