Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule Options:

  • 3 shifts of 12 hours (9:00 AM - 9:30 PM)
  • 4 shifts of 10 hours (11:00 AM - 9:30 PM)
• Call Requirements:

  • 3 overnight shifts per month
  • 1 weekend 12-hour call shift per month (30-minute call window)
• Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend 12-hour call shift per month
• Float Requirement: None

Experience & Specialty Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Required Experience: 3 years (highest requirement noted)
• Clinical Experience Required In:

  • Orthopedics
  • Vascular (specifically abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, endovascular, and carotid endarterectomy)
  • DaVinci Xi Robotic experience (general, gynecology, and urology)
  • Gynecology and urology experience
• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Michigan Nursing License required
  • BLS (AHA) required

Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• NRP (AAP or American Medical Learning Center)
• TNCC (required for ER positions)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• NIH Stroke Certification (annual update required)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State License Verification (primary source online verification)

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • National Criminal Search
  • National Sex Offender Search
  • Statewide searches
  • Education Verification
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search for Home Health
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Michigan LARA fingerprinting required within 45 days of start (for certain positions)
• Michigan Central Registry Clearance (time sensitive, wet signature required) for applicable placements
• Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
• Drug testing: 10-panel including Marijuana/THC within 45 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (must include pertussis)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 45 days of start
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for candidates starting after November 1 (deadline December 1)

Additional Requirements

• Complete a 7-year work history with no gaps (application/resume)
• One professional reference from a supervisor or manager required
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam within 1 year prior to assignment (passing score ≥ 80%)
• Competency exam in specialty within 1 year prior to assignment (passing score ≥ 80%)
• Fit mask testing required onsite (Honeywell DC365N95HC) for certain roles
• Review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy
• Vaccine exemption forms must be submitted and approved if applicable
