Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Saturday and Sunday: 12-hour shifts (8 AM to 8 PM)
• Monday: 8 AM to 4 PM

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• CT Certification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (Radiology/Cardiology)
• Must have Level 1 trauma experience
• Prior travel experience required (1st-time travelers not accepted)

Job Responsibilities

• Operate advanced imaging protocols such as CT Cardiac, Stroke perfusion, Trauma
• Assist with procedure protocols for ICU, Trauma, General Anesthesia, Sedation, and Inpatient settings
• Evaluate images for technical quality and prioritize for Radiologist review
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Provide orientation and education for new technologists and student technologists
• Assist with education and training of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows, attendings)
• Collaborate with radiologists and physicists to develop new protocols and techniques
• Perform unit/department-specific duties as required

Equipment Experience

• Siemens imaging equipment required
• Experience with McKesson and Cerner systems preferred

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
• Additional background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 60 days
• International background check if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
• State-specific background checks and registrations required (Missouri FCSR, MO EDL, MO Caregiver Background Screening)
• Drug testing: Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year (3M models specified)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or approved exemptions for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declinations not accepted for new candidates)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox) vaccine or positive titer
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (new candidates only)
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Professional references (2 within last 2 years)
• Resume with at least 7 years of employment history, no gaps over 30 days
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
• State license verification within 60 days of start (MO state license as applicable)

Notes

• This is a teaching facility environment
• Candidates will be expected to provide education and training to students and new staff
• Prior travel experience is mandatory; first-time travelers will not be accepted

This position is ideal for experienced Radiology/Cardiology technologists with trauma experience who are comfortable working advanced CT imaging protocols in a high-acuity, teaching hospital setting.
