Job Summary: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Details
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Required Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in specialty
- Patient Mix: Adult and Pediatric
- Work Areas: Float between Pediatric ICU (PICU), Emergency Department (ED), and Adult Critical Care units
- Preferred Experience: PICU/NICU experience preferred
- Schedule: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday), must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays
- Procedures: Blood gas analysis, ventilator/BiPAP/High flow initiation and management, code response, in-house transport, medication administration, chest physiotherapy
- Equipment Experience: Servo I & U ventilators, V60 BiPAP
- Charting System: EPIC
- Licenses/Certifications Required:
- New Jersey State License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CRT or RRT considered
- Preferred Certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP (onsite training available)
- Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start
- Must include all aliases, locations lived/worked in past 7 years, SS trace, nationwide, sex offender, federal, OFAC, FACIS Level 3
- Pending background checks require attestation at start
- MVR/DMV hits do not require facility review for this location
- Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel urine drug screen within 30 days of start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months, clearance to perform essential job functions, free of communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Immunizations or titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption annually
- Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing mandatory
- Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination
- Latex allergy questionnaire if applicable
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 72 hours of signing, required within 12 months of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam as applicable
- Color blind testing within 1 year if required
- Certifications:
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP as applicable/preferred
- Chemotherapy certification if applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) required for ER, Pediatric ER, Behavioral Health RNs (online and in-person training)
- NIH Stroke Certification required for adult critical care specialties and ED
- References: Two references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Employment History: 7 years work history required, with verification of at least 1 year prior to start date (NJ state requirement)
- Facility Specific:
- Floating policy acknowledgment required for every new assignment
- Annual education sign-off and training completion required
- Vendor medical clearance form required for candidates with history of positive TB
- Fit test questionnaire must be completed within 48 hours of confirmation
- Respiratory safety clearance must be completed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) are highly preferred but onsite training is available.
- Strong CRT or RRT credentials will be considered.
- Must be able to float to additional units based on skill set and hospital needs.
- First-time travelers are accepted; prior travel experience is not required.
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 holidays during the contract.
This position requires compliance with extensive health, background, and competency documentation to meet facility and state regulations. Candidates should be prepared to complete all required exams, certifications, and clearances prior to or at the start of the assignment.
