Registered Nurse (Pediatric CICU) - Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights, 36 hours/week
Start Date: ASAP; ideally within 4-6 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking experienced Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurses for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Candidates must have clear CICU/CVPICU experience documented in their work history. May float to cardiac medical-surgical floor as needed.


Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years Registered Nurse experience
  • At least 1 year Pediatric CICU experience
  • Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers are welcome)

Certifications Required

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Facility Highlights

Additional Requirements & Information

  • Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
  • Background check required within 3 months of start, including county and statewide searches for Missouri and Kansas
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
  • Immunizations and health documents required, including:
    • Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption (seasonal requirement)
  • Pediatric pharmacology and competency exams required
  • Color blind testing required
  • References: 2 supervisory references or performance evaluations within 1 year of start
  • Must complete facility-specific forms and orientation acknowledgments prior to start

Work Environment

  • Charting system: Cerner
  • Scrub color: Any kid-friendly color or pattern
  • Parking: Free with permit

This is a night-shift travel contract for a Pediatric CICU RN with at least 2 years RN experience and 1 year pediatric critical care experience.
