Job Opportunity: Sonographer (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbia, Missouri

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Assist with highly complex ultrasounds essential for diagnosing and treating fertility issues.
- Support procedures performed within the REI clinic.
- Position requires physical activity including ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
- Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is routine.
- Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
- Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather required.
- Must be able to:
- Work at assigned location for the full contract term.
- Work the majority of assigned shifts.
- Take call.
- Work assigned weekends.
- Work at least 50% of holidays during the contract.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sonographer.
- Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract).
- Valid state license for Sonographer discipline.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on patient population (check with recruiter).
- ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT certification required for Sonographer.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to perform physical demands with or without accommodation.
- Active role requiring movement and lifting.
- Exposure to contagious illnesses.
- Must be flexible with shift schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and inclement weather.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and international checks if applicable.
- State-specific background checks and caregiver registry checks required.
- Proof of identity (Photo ID), I-9, and E-Verify documentation.
- Health screenings and immunizations including:
- Physical exam within 1 year.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (annual updates required).
- Vaccinations or immunity proof for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, and seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption.
- Drug screening (7 panel) within 60 days of start.
- Fit mask test within 1 year (3M models specified).
- Professional references (2 within last 2 years).
- Resume with at least 7 years of employment history, no gaps over 30 days.
Additional Notes
- Must be able to complete all required documentation and screenings within specified timeframes (some within 48 hours of signing).
- Photo for badge required for new candidates only.
- Must comply with facility-specific policies including confidentiality agreements and safety manuals.
This position is ideal for experienced sonographers with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with a diverse patient population.
