Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) — temporary LSRT accepted (issued within 3-5 days after application and payment)
- Epic Experience: Required
- Call Requirement: Yes, 1 week and 1 weekend per month
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- Holiday Requirement: As needed
Licensure & Certifications
- State license verification required within 30 days of start
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) — verify based on assignment
- National tech certifications (ARRT, ARDMS, ASCP, CRCST, NMTCB, RDMS) required within 30 days of start as applicable
Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (updated annually)
- Competency Exam (updated annually)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (updated annually) if applicable
- Core Parts I, II, III (updated annually)
Background & Screening
- Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Drug screen within 30 days of start (specific panels depending on hire date)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months (not required by facility but required by placement agency)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper forms)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per current guidelines
- Annual TB questionnaire
- MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) — 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination within 12 months
- Varicella — 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) with exemptions and declinations accepted
- Mask required at all times for unvaccinated candidates
Documentation & Compliance
- Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
- Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation
- I9 and E-Verify compliance
- Facility-specific policies (e.g., employee appearance) must be reviewed prior to start
