Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital (Travel/Contract)

Job Description
- Position covers the Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) at a hospital.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with rotation to cover Saturdays twice a month. When working Saturday, a weekday off is given.
- May be required to cover at least one other unit depending on census or need.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in Acute Rehab Unit or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Therapy/Rehabilitation).
- Licensure: California Occupational Therapist (CA OT) license required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (photo ID, color).
- Background checks including criminal, sanction, and exclusion screenings within 90 days prior to start.
- Education verification confirming minimum required education.
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN confirming good health and ability to perform job duties.
- Fit mask test within 90 days of start (specific mask types required).
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or signed declination).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray updated annually.
- Proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers.
- Hepatitis B positive titer or declination.
- Varicella vaccinations or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (masking required during flu season).
- Drug screening: Oral saliva drug screen within 30 days of start (specific analytes required).
- Competency exams and orientation safety manual acknowledgment required.
- Photo for badge (passport style, no filters).
- Employment history verification for past 3 years and current resume including last 7 years of employment.
Additional Notes
- No annual renewal required for background checks by client, but agency-specific updates may apply.
- Competencies and new employee orientation modules must be completed by the first day of contract.
- If returning after 6 months or more away from the system, new competencies and orientation required.
- Masking required during flu season regardless of vaccination status.
