Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 1900-0730
Float required
Every other weekend required
Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
First-time travelers accepted

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required
Prior travel experience NOT required

Certifications & Exams Required

BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended (please review unit details)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if working in ED or Pediatrics
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required by unit
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required by unit
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for L&D candidates (C-EFM required or AWHONN as placeholder)
State nursing license verification required prior to start
Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher)
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam updated annually (within 1 year of start)
Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)

Health & Safety Requirements

Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
Negative TB test (IGRA or PPD) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray if history of positive TB
Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
Varicella immunity documentation (2 vaccines or positive titer)
Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), includes multiple substances; updated annually
Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept-Mar)

Background & Compliance

Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
Education verification of highest degree required by position
Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually

Additional Notes

Candidate must complete facility-specific modules prior to start
Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
Photo for badge must meet facility specifications
Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience, comfortable with MS/Tele specialty, and able to meet the certification and compliance requirements listed above. Prior travel experience is not required, making it suitable for first-time travel nurses.
