Job Description

• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Alabama Nursing License

• Work Schedule:

  • Every Other Weekend (EOW)
  • Float to MedSurg units

• Patient Ratios: 1:5

• Required Work Settings:

  • MedSurg/Tele
  • Telemetry
  • PCU/Stepdown

• Skills Required:

  • Strong Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response
  • Ability to start IVs
  • Heparin Protocols
  • Manage Cardiac Drips (No Titration)

• Traveler Information:

  • Accepts first-time travelers
  • Locals considered (60-mile radius rule)

• 8 weeks

• Accounting Documents:

  • Driver's License/State ID

• Certifications:

  • ACLS (as applicable by unit)
  • BLS (current)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, as applicable)
  • National Certification/Verification
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • State License Verification
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)

• Competencies:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Competency Exam (as applicable)

• Health Documents:

  • Physical Exam (within 12 months of start)
  • Fit Testing (within 12 months of start)
  • Tdap vaccination or declination (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months)
  • TB Questionnaire
  • Rubeola (Measles) vaccination or positive titer
  • Mumps vaccination or positive titer
  • Rubella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Drug Testing (10 panel within 30 days of start)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and Dose 2 if applicable)

• History Checks:

  • Background Check (within 6 months of start)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM Check
  • HHS/OIG Check
  • References (not required by client but collected per standard)
  • Skills Checklist (required annually)
  • Education Verification (official transcript, diploma, or 3rd party verification)
