Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Massachusetts
• Physical Therapy Assistant (1 year of experience)
• Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
• Experience in a Long Term Care setting
• Experience in a Rehabilitation setting

Key Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Use manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and supportive or assistive devices as part of treatment
• Assess patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Document required clinical information and treatment minutes in the electronic documentation system
• Participate in required meetings, trainings, in-services, and conferences
• Support discharge planning and provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
• Assist with obtaining needed durable medical equipment or supplies
• Supervise and support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist

Practice Expectations

• Follow APTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
• Work under the direction of a Physical Therapist
