Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift) - Temp Position
Location: Midland, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Independently or in consultation with a physician, administer medications and perform therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing related to the cardio-pulmonary system.
- Respond to arrest and emergency situations, providing CPR and life support.
- Perform respiratory care evaluations and treatments according to protocols.
- Deliver medications via aerosol and metered dose inhalers.
- Respond immediately to Rapid Responses, arrest, or STAT situations, maintaining artificial airways and performing cardiac compressions.
- Set up and maintain oxygen therapy according to protocol.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Active RRT Certification through The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Active Michigan Respiratory Therapist license.
- Active American Heart Association certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
- Skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to respiratory therapy.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel work experience preferred.
Additional Information
- Must be willing to work nights.
- Facility uses Epic EMR system.
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be considered.
Responsibilities Breakdown (Approximate)
- 25% Respiratory care evaluations and treatments.
- 25% Medication delivery via aerosol and inhalers.
- 25% Emergency response including airway management and CPR.
- 25% Oxygen setup and maintenance.
