Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights)

Job Summary

Registered Nurses are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. The RN provides clinical leadership to the patient care team during the assigned shift, coordinating bed and patient care assignments to ensure consistent care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to the healthcare team during the shift.
• Coordinate patient care assignments and prepare for the next shift.
• Collaborate with leaders/directors to pursue required knowledge and skills through orientation, in-service programs, and clinical learning opportunities.
• Establish effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and healthcare team members.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses, problems, and issues.
• Plan and evaluate patient care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines.
• Collect and interpret patient health data, recognizing normal and abnormal findings.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with measurable outcomes.
• Supervise care delivered by other team members, ensuring safety and infection control standards.
• Serve as a positive role model for healthcare team members.
• Assess patient conditions through observation, rounding, and team input.
• Employ teaching strategies to promote health and safety.
• Document and report care delivered to physicians and team members.
• Provide performance feedback to team members and contribute to appraisals.

Requirements

• Education: ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) required.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience:

  • Med/Surg experience is strongly preferred.
  • No explicit years of experience required, but Med/Surg experience is highly valued.
• Additional:

  • Approximately 10-12 patients per day.
  • Dress code: Business Casual.
